Web of Life

I have resisted writing a blog for a few reasons. The first is that it takes me an inordinate amount of time to craft something that I think someone else may want to read. Therefore, the thought of committing to writing regularly is daunting. However, I have been posting more regularly to other sites, so I think it is finally time to gather my musings in one place.

The second reason that I did not jump into this a few years ago is that I was in the process of starting a green business – Zola Goods. In addition to the amount of time and energy it takes to start a company, I also had the notion that I needed to keep my business and professional life separate – and a blog is nothing if not personal. Maybe Facebook has helped me to blur the lines over the last few years and realize that in fact my personal and professional lives are very much related. I have found that is what happens when you work in a field that you are passionate about. You don’t have to compartmentalize anymore, and all the strands in your life start to intersect to form a beautiful, intricate pattern.

It is my intention in this blog to explore life’s interconnectedness, by highlighting the people and projects that I find to be compelling, and weave them into a larger discussion about how we can take positive actions to live in peace and balance with each other and the earth.
